1 year

December 13th marked our 1 year Japanaversary! I'm not really sure how that's possible, since it seems like we just got here. The AESA Christmas party was that night, not a bad way to celebrate :]

It was actually a picture of a squatty potty but I don't have a weeks worth of pictures on the computer since my first phone stopped working. Instead here's a picture of the girls busting out of "jail" ha.

 

It has been an awesome year to say the least! I realized today that in about a year and a few months we will already be looking at our next orders! For those wondering, Frank and I have already said we want to try for anywhere in Europe next. If that isn't possible then we will try to stay in Japan.

Bon Odori

This past weekend I got to perform in a Bon Odori festival here on base. I had first heard about this last summer after we got orders to Japan, I was even happier when I found out I could participate in it this year! If you click on THIS you can read what Bon Odori is.

ALL DONE!! Jen and I after we did 'Call Me Maybe' one more time to close out the dancing part of the night. This awesome parade of dancers and musicians closed the whole thing out.

Installation 2013

Last night Frank and I got to get up all dolled up and enjoy a great night with friends. AESA (the enlisted spouses association) had there installation party. It is a night to say thank you and goodbye to the old board and hello to the new one. Even better everyone (members only) gets a prize for the night! I was hoping for the grand prize which was the iPad mini.. but sadly did not win. Oh well guess that means it is still on my Christmas list!

I took quite a few pictures so be prepared for a photo dump! I will share the professional pictures once they are available.

I am currently doing the 24 day challenge... (it's Sunday, why are people flying today!? They should be at home! Sorry just a thought since a jet just took off.) and yesterday was day 6 of 24. I had no intentions of cheating so Frank had a great time enjoying the tab he had going at the bar! ha.

We're more than friends...

I think every day for the last week I have been telling myself I was going to write up a post. Better late than never!

So... since I last posted we had elections for AESA. I was so ready (yet still very nervous) for my speech. Frank was even an awesome husband and gave me a message that morning to help me relax. I got up there and froze. It was the worst thing I had ever gone through, I could not remember a thing and just kept repeating the same thing over and over again. Needless to say I lost. I wasn't too surprised, I wouldn't have voted for myself. A few people afterwards asked how I was doing about losing. Losing didn't bother me that much since I knew it was a possibility running against two other people. The fake that I bombed my speech is what upset me. I got over it by the end of the night and the next day was back to the normal daily fun times.

Because I am still very busy with work and the Red Cross it makes getting out and exploring a little (A LOT) difficult. Before coming here I wanted to travel and do as much as possible, however, I also wanted to work and do something for myself. I am working and doing something for myself and loving every minute. But I miss being able to do whatever I want when I want. Talk about nothing being able to have everything ha. It would make things a whole lot easier if Frank and I had the same days off!

Not a whole lot is going on in our house right now. There is a lot going on around base though, I am trying to squeeze things in when I can. So maybe one day I will have pictures from some events. Oh I found out I get to participate in Bon Odori this summer!!

 I put together a beautification project for the Red Cross with the help of AESA. I hope we can do more of these projects around base!

 I guess I have been living under a rock because I have never heard of these before. Oh my. So amazing!
