Oh Yes!!
A few weeks back one of the ladies in my military group at church brought some homemade tortilla chips and homemade guacamole for us to snack on. I'm pretty positive I consumed most of them on my own.. while hoarding the bowl :] I asked how she made the chips and she said it is the easiest thing ever. And she was right!!
Heat some oil (I prefer extra virgin olive oil for stuff like this, vegetable and canola never step foot in our house) over medium heat. Cut up corn tortillas into 3rds then drop into oil and cook for a few seconds on each side. Flipping with tongs. Don't fill the pan up with tortillas, leave some room so they don't stick. You also do not want to text while making these or you will burn them.. you know it's just something I heard ;]
A little crank from the pink salt to top them off, then dip them into this goodness...
Some homemade guacamole. Mine is pretty plain compared to others, but that's how I like it. A little bit of pink salt, and some granulated onion powder. Simple yet amazing.
I know right now freezing things in ice cube trays is all the rage. Well I have no extra ice cube trays so I went old school and froze mine in a small container. We had 4 avocado's that we didn't get to and I knew we wouldn't be able to eat them before they went bad, so I made up 3 (1 was trash ready) small containers of mashed avocado (I like small chunks) and lemon juice. I decided at the last minute to make these chips so I put the guac container under warm water for a bit, then I stirred it up and put it in the microwave for 30 seconds two times stirring in between. It was good to go at that point, but too warm for my liking so I put it in the fridge until the chips were made. Perfecto!
Was this a healthy meal that I should have been eating? No (the guacamole was though!)
Was this an amazingly mouth watering good snack? YES!
Does my stomach hurt after eating said goodness? Of course
This isn't something I will be making often, but man is it an awesome treat every once in awhile.

Yum!
For those days when I can't juice (Ahh to have no money at the end of pay day.. So much fun!)... The next best thing. Rolled oats, flaxseed meal, pear, kiwi, vanilla, cinnamon and agave.. I wanted it sweet ha. Perfect amount though :]
I love experimenting with oats.. Frank gets a bit tired of it though. Mostly because I have made a few concoctions that were less than.. tasty.
Not a bad start to the day :]

A little this, a little that
Well we've been in our new place for just over a week. And we are loving it! A little side note.. I am in need of some caffeine at the moment! I ran out of spark this morning and have no money to go get Starbucks :/ boo. So if I start rambling.. like usual you know why :]
Let's see here... so we are loving the complex and apartment. We definitely love that it is gated.. and the elevators since we are on the third floor! We decided to spend the extra $50 a month to get garage. We had assumed from the way they talked about it that it was private. It's a two car garage space which we get one space but there are four spots in each garage. Make sense? So two garage doors for two cars each side. It's not so bad, we have a big storage bin up on the wall that we have put stuff in and the garages themselves are heated and locked from both the inside and out. Our only complaint is that our garage neighbor has yet to move their car and it is over to our side quite a bit. Meaning it's a tight squeeze! Anyone on the passage side has to get in or out outside of the garage. We know that they at least come down to check their car so I might be putting a very nice note on their windshield :]
We are also loving how close we are to everything we do. We are less than a two mile walk out to the ocean, and a walk to the dog beach we use the most (not sure on miles). I am less than 10 minutes to the base I work out at and will eventually start subbing at once I get certified. Frank is about 20 minutes to work (took off about 5 minutes) which is still far but he's on nights so he doesn't have to deal with any traffic.
Ricky was down in San Diego with his girlfriend Yumi for the afternoon so they stopped by to check out the new digs ;] ha. We ended up looking up a pizza place near by and decided on Hoboken pizza and beer joint. It reminded me a lot of the pizza places Nicole and I ate at in New York. And it was just as good!! We of course had to get Franky's pizza ha. It was AMAZING!
We still love Pizzeria Luigi, but they now have some competition :]
Before I forget.. the other day I was browsing through recipes on the edible perspective (the site is not working right now so I am not able to link up to them.) and came across one for maple cinnamon almond cups.. think Reese's, but probably better! Since I no longer have a processor I won't be able to make these. The maple roasted almonds sounded amazing though. Right before Ricky and Yumi came over I threw about 3 cups into the oven (1 cup of almonds and 1 1/2 TBLS maple syrup, pure maple is always better than any cheap kind that has more ingredients then I can count.) and roasted them for about 15-20 minutes. Oh man were they to die for! We ate them all up. Sadly it was mostly Frank and I because we apparently have no idea when to stop ha.
A few pictures to share..
Our lunch today. Yum! I found these salmon patties (Alaskan salmon) at Trader Joe's yesterday and had to try them. I also picked up some tarter sauce from TJ's that has dill and jalapenos in it. Best tarter sauce ever! Frank even thought it was okay and he's not a fan of tarter sauce. Love these patties, made for an amazing lunch :] For the broccoli I love mixing it with olive oil, pepper and pink salt.
Well... that's all I can think of to share for now. Yay for being back to regular blogging!!

Our newest place
I thought about waiting till everything was unpacked to take pictures.... But our stuff just looks sad in this place ha. Now that we have a lot more room it's quite noticeable that we sold a lot of our stuff. We do hope to get new bedroom furniture by the end of this year though :]
So far I am loving it here! Next week I will do a recap of everything.
These pictures might not be in order when I post this. I tried moving them but since I'm on my phone it won't let me.

Testing!?
I love that after a year of searching for a blogger app, that was free, I have finally stumbled on the official blogger app. Days before I FINALLY have my Internet up and running. At least now I can blog on the go :] which reminds me that I need to download this app to the iPad first thing in the morning!
So how have you all been? I'm sure you might be wondering that about us? In December I came back to San Diego. I decided to go back to our same complex but I got a 1 bedroom instead of 2 to save some money. Well that didn't last long. Tomorrow we move out closer to where we work/spend most of our time.
Once I got back to SD I started studying for my group exercise certification! I take my test next month and am super nervous yet super excited :] I plan to start as a spin instructor then I would like to branch off and add in abs, cardio circuit and TRX. Today was my first day of being in front of the class. I decided to start easy and for this week will be doing the stretching portion of class. Next week I will have my first 15 minutes of actual riding.
Since the gym I work out at and will be subbing at when I get certified is about 20 minutes away and franks work is even farther I've gotten tired of the commute and gas just I was wasting. Our church and most things we do are more west as well. On top of that franks car was the victim of a hit and run two weeks before he came home. Needless to say it was a goner. So that means we are down to one car for the time being. I found a great place that is MUCH closer and nicer and fits into our budget. So happy!
I'm sure you've picked up in the "we's" I have written. Yup franks home! We chose not to tell anyone so that we could enjoy a few uninterrupted days today. We will most definitely be doing that again with deployments, we loved it! After 5 years frank was finally able to surprise me! He came home Thursday night, a day early. I was very excited and so proud of him for being able to pull it off!
This post is all over the place and does not flow what's so ever! Sorry about that, I've been away from blogger for a few months... And it's WAY past my bed time!

Blogging from my phone
I hate using blogger on my phone, as to why I haven't been on here in some time. I hadn't planned in being away from the internet this long though. So much to catch up on and share! I'm hoping soon(??) I will be back.
