The rundown

Sorry for randomly going MIA. Lots have been going on. My parents come down next week for my birthday, then once they leave I will be following. Yup I'll be making a big move up to Washington. This all came about less than a week ago, and I will be kicking and screaming the whole way. I'll be moving home so we can get our debt paid off once and for all! Now a little explaining...

So for a long time Frank had been talking about going IA for the money, so once GTMO came up he was all over it. It was also one that I agreed to. Frank volunteered and pushed this through because he was willing to sacrifice more than a year away to help us out financially.

Almost a year ago is when we started following Dave Ramsey and decided that we would give up a few years of  "fun" so that we can enjoy the rest of our lives with no worries over money. So making sacrifices is something we're okay with. Frank made his, so what was mine? Well I didn't do much, but I don't anyways so it wasn't much of a sacrifice. The other day it just hit me that I needed to go home. It was like I had finally put my stubbornness aside and listened to what God wanted me to do. This is a HUGE test for me! I don't do well at home for long periods of time. 3 weeks was too much back in November. So 9 months is.. well it's going to be interesting.

I had spent almost an entire day praying about this and asking God for any big clear signs since it felt like I was subconsciously ignoring Him. And of course they were all over the place. So with my parents coming down it made for perfect timing, we'll drop my mom off at the airport then pack up the explorer and head north. Thankfully our apartment is month to month so I didn't have to worry about paying to get out of a lease, I will have to pay for all of May though since I wasn't able to give a 30 days notice. Everything has already been canceled and I have a storage unit up at Miramar that is half packed already. The only thing left is to switch over my insurance and have all my mail forwarded. This is the easiest move I've ever done!! I want everything done before my parents get here so that we can enjoy San Diego on there vacation.

So that's the low down on everything going on in my life right now. It's going to be hard still even with all the money we're saving, but we can and WILL do it. When Frank gets back we WILL be debt free :]

Yay! I'm excited for you to come back to WA for a bit! Hopefully, with God's help you'll adjust well. Isn't that just awesome how things work out? Being debt free sooner than you thought will be pretty awesome too. I can't wait to see you! Hopefully you'll find a church here you'll like. : )

Sorry, EMILY. That was me @Destiny who commented before this one.

Wow, what huge changes in your life! I seriously think you are so brave, and that sounds like a really smart (if difficult) choice. Keep us posted on how the move goes and how it goes living at home! And YAY for being debt-free!

And on that note, happy Easter. :) Hope you have a good one.

We should get together when you live here! What city will you live in?

Just remember this is a big sacrifice for Dad and I as well... we will always welcome you with open arms, because we love you, but we've been living alone in the house for some time now and have our own routines. Like I mentioned in my text, dad is up at 6, with music blaring to do 90 minutes on his eliptical. since he's lost 20 lbs in the last 2.5 months, he won't be changing just because your home. Maybe you two can compete. He wants me too, but I'd rather go to a yoga class. I am looking forward to your enjoyment of "cleaning" to come home with you...

If you can get through the "bonding" the two of you will be doing on the drive home, you will do fine.

Maybe you should look into volunteering somewhere so you have a scheduled reason to get out of the house? Just a thought... I do get out 6 days a weeks so don't care what you do all day, but Dad is home almost 24/7.

See you in a few days!!! Love Mom

Wow! It sounds like you have made a wonderful decision for you and your family. That doesn't make it easy, though. Best of luck!
