Before the month is over I should get around to keeping up with my goals! One of those being post a new recipe. I don't have much space or time to take pictures of it anymore so I'm going the lazy way and am just going to post the links.
Being risotto this dish obviously takes longer. But boy is it worth it! I had Melanie and CJ over for dinner and apparently Mel loved it because she ate two bowls :] If you have the time this one is a MUST! Perfect for the colder weather. Some crunchy bread would have rounded out the whole thing, but I didn't have any on had. Next I will for sure.
Last month I took the dogs for a hike at Camano Island state park. I had planned to post these pictures last month. And I forgot! The dogs were in hog heaven!! Next to the beach hiking is one of their favorite things to do.
On one of the little trails through out the park they had this cool looking bench, I of course had to use it as a photo op! It's hilarious to me looking at the sequence of the pictures. It's like trying to get a picture of two kids who don't want to be sitting down. Love my pooches :]
After our hike we headed down the road to Melanie's parents house to spend time with her CJ and Zaedan. Don't you just love my awesome hair in that bottom pick!? When I went to the bathroom they had fun taking pictures with my camera ha.
So there it is.. our one and only hike this summer :[ I have warm clothing but still no good winter hiking boots so we probably won't go for another hike till March when we go back to San Diego. For now I'll just keep reliving this one...
Well I got a little busy! Mostly just with the gym (I might as well live there) and NOAH. With the holiday seasons starting I've been enjoying it all as much as possible. I just got warm weather clothes and shoes so I'm not as miserable as I have been. A few weeks ago Frank emailed me pictures of his X-rays. People have been shocked at what he did. His mom just laughed and said him and his brother can't just scrape their knee! ha.
As you can see he completely broke off the bone and then snapped that other piece. The end result is 9 screws, a plate (I believe it's only 1) and 25 staples.
He now is down to some strips since getting the staples out. He's much happier.
He says the being broken part sucks, but the scar is pretty cool haha. Such a boy.
Well Frank had his bandage changed today to a water proof one so he can shower (ironically when he got home the water was turned off for maintenance haha. Poor guy). He had his doctor take a picture for me since I want to see what all he did. I'm a curious one :]. Apparently Frank is laughing because he was wondering how often any of his patients ask him to take a picture of the incision. No new news on it right now. He goes back Wednesday to have the dressings changed again.
25 staples later....
Between it healing and his hair growing back.. man is that going to itch like crazy!!!
I'm not sure how to put September into words... it's was a crazy, interesting month to say the least. I'm actually looking forward to getting back more into a routine in October. Needless to say my goals for September sucked! Although Molly was the reason behind them not getting to do much (she torn up her neck on some bushes at the beginning of the month and then it took almost all of September to heal because she wouldn't leave it alone). So lets see how horrid I did...
Run outside twice a week FAIL! I did run outside a few times.. getting there!
Run a 5K FAIL!! So disappointed in myself with this one. I had the option to run one and I chickened out at the last minute because I wasn't feeling too good.
Read the book of Matthew in full every week FAIL! I did read it a few weeks.. but then I started slacking on any kind of reading.
Read two books FAIL!! This is just depressing to look at.. I have 4 books sitting on my nightstand... What the heck!!
Go to the dog park once a week FAIL We did make it once... now I just need to add 3 more days to that :]
Take the dogs for a daily walk Half I was loving our walks again but then after Molly wasn't able to wear a collar the walks had to stop
Start the 100 days of real food challenge YES! New way of life for me :] This has been the best thing I could do for myself, I can't wait till Frank comes home and he can see why I love eating this way!
Pretty depressing to look at all the fails.. October we must redeem ourselves!
Start the Hawaii Island swim challenge at the gym, swim 3 days a week (at least)
Run outside once a week (weather permitting)
Read two books
Read the book of Joel every day
Go sugar free
Take the dogs for a daily walk (weather permitting)
Go to the dog park once a week
Document one new recipe a week (not sure why I've gotten so lazy about this lately)
