Honeymoon Day 5: Rome

Our view driving out to Rome.. and then I fell asleep for the rest of the ride...

I have never seen so many smart cars in my life! There were streets that were all smart cars. We later found out that they are really cheap to insure in Rome which is why they are so popular.

 Spanish Steps

 Trevi Fountain

Don't remember exactly what I wished for, but it was basic and simple.

I could not get over how every building looked like a painting! I felt like we were walking through a painting through most of Rome.

These Cathedrals... WOW!

The day we were in Rome was the day they were doing a canonization. Neither Frank or myself are Catholic so it had no significant meaning to us. But it was kind of cool being able to say we were there when it happened.

Since this was going on they recommend that people from the boat not go to Rome since they were expecting millions of people. Frank and I decided to brave it anyways.. and I am glad we did. It was not bad at all. By the time we got to the crowds the event was ending so people were leaving. Tokyo on a weekend is busier. So to us it was nothing.. almost normal. We had overheard some couples talking on the bus back and they were complaining about how packed it was. I almost wanted to tell them to never visit Tokyo then haha.

This was the closest we got to Vatican City. We crossed the bridge and walked along the water of the city for a while.

Rome is a city that deserves at least a few days to really explore. We did however love what we did get to see in the 7 hours we were there. The bus ride back was glorious.. we slept :]
